The electronics distribution company Mouser Electronics and renowned American engineer Grant Imahara are collaborating to launch the ISS Design Challenge, a competition that will call on college engineering students to design a 3D printable electronic object that will help astronauts on the ISS. The winner of the ISS Design Challenge will have their 3D design printed in outer space on the ISS 3D printer, and will also win a 3D printer and consultation with the organization Made in Space. Mouser’s challenge will be accepting submissions until October 7, which will be judged by Imahara and Chris Hadfield, a former commander of the ISS.
