Stepan Ignatovich, a scientist from Siberia, is enthusiastic about learning new skills. He has recently taught himself to begin playing the violin and to 3D print...so he's brought those new disciplines together. Based on another Thingiverse design (the F-F-Fiddle), Ignatovich set himself to creating his own instrument on the Prusa i3 3D printer he'd built. When the design he found didn't work for his use, he set himself to the task of designing his own electric violin, inspired by the first design. Less than a month from the initial idea, Ignatovich has a 3D printed electric violin that is fully playable, and he's released the files available on Thingiverse for others.
