    We flame polish waxes and plastics at work. A flame from a lighter will leave soot on some plastics or if you just leave it there too long. Acrylic is usually HHO flame polished for this reason. We tend to use blow torches as it burns cleaner. Sandblasting the part first leaves a nice consistent matt finish and removes layer lines, gives a different look and feel.
