NIU Student 3D Prints Prosthetic For Young Violinist
We’ve seen another heartwarming story emerge from e-NABLE as a young student engineer at Northern Illinois University created a 3D printed prosthetic for a 12-year-old girl passionate about playing her violin. Sarah Valentiner had a prosthetic provided to her by the Shriners Club previously, but it was limiting, her and her parents began exploring the e-NABLE network. They turned to NIU for help, and 20-year-old Oleseun Taiwo began working with her on a project that may have changed the course of his career. Upon successfully making the prosthetic hand, he now wants to pursue a specialty in 3D printing. Along with that, Valentiner has decided she wants to be an engineer.
