Super Tailored 3D Printed Home Concepts
While it’s been predicted that 3D printing will majorly transform the construction industry, many have been waiting to see how indeed that might happen--and when. Now, Facit Homes in London has developed a process for building homes that operates under the same premise as 3D construction, offering custom homes with a bevy of options available to buyers at even more affordable prices. Architects create the homes in 3D and then all the construction materials are fabricated by machines controlled by computers, eliminated the chance for deviation or human error. Do you just blindly reprint every press release that has the words "3D printing" in it somewhere, even when it's someone explaining that that's not how he'd describe his process for pre-fabricating homes?
The concept of prefab housing construction is not a new one, and this company doesn't use any additive fabrication technology whatever. So why call this "3D Printed Home Concepts?" Why not use a little bit of editorial discretion occasionally?
