Red Hook Regatta and 3D Printing
Today, Sunday, September 20, 2015, two participants in the Red Hook Initiative Digital Stewards program, Laurenzo Reed and Jesus Benitez, will see a big plan of theirs finally happen. It's the first ever Red Hook Regatta with radio-controlled and 3D printed boats! This event, occurring on Brooklyn's Valentino Pier at 4:00 PM, is a capstone project for the Digital Stewards program that provides technology (including 3D design and printing), media, and other professional training to young adults. The regatta is a culmination of a community-wide effort involving several organizations and the creative vision of its creators: Reed and Benitez. Best of luck to all involved, and may the best radio-controlled, 3D printed boat win! Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/96631/red-hook-regatta/
