Makerfarm 8" aluminum Y bed plate
Anybody tried the 8" aluminum plate Colin is selling? Good fit/direct replacement or is this a generic/universal. Can't tell from the pic.

Other aluminum frames on ebay/amazon are not well prepared for the v slot extrusion setup.

That looks like this build plate that openbuilds sells. http://openbuildspartstore.com/build-plate/ They have drawings on their site that will give you the hole patterns used or you can email Colin for whether this will fit the i3v 8".

It's generic/universal. I was wondering if anyone had adapted it to an I3v. My fear would be that a needed hole for an I3vwould overlap an existing hole. I might need to find one that is blank and avoid the prepunched holes.

That looks like a fair price for those also. That is less expensive than it was going to cost me to buy the aluminum & drill it myself. I might buy one of those in the next month. Thanks for pointing that out.

I got a 12" to replace my warped wooden bed. So far I like it. I wish I had weighed it before in stalling. Seems pretty stiff. I think some holes could have been punched in it to really lighten it up.
