3D Printed Viewer of 3D Omages

Thingiverse contributor DJ505 has contributed a design for a 3D printed stereoscopic image viewer that fits into an Altoids tin. The handheld device requires only a few mundane ingredients, a pair of lenses, and a 3D printer - or access to one - in order to create. After folding out, viewing the image through the lenses creates the illusion of 3 dimensionality and when you are done, you can simply fold it up and put it in your pocket. That is very ingenious.

many many years ago i made a stereoscopic camera by glueing 2 cheap disposable cameras side by side on a stick with another stick to push both shutter buttons at the same time.

And it worked remarkably well. I've got the set of 3d pictures in a drawer. I view them by going cross eyed - but a dedicated viewer wouild be much better.
I could easily scan them and rexize for the altoids tin. One of which I have and even know where it is :-)

    I'll give this ago.
