My 1st 3D Printer
Hello everybody,
I have been looking at 3D printers for a while now, so im looking to pull the trigger om my 1st buy.
After a whole lot of research i have decided on a RepRap style design, i really like the look of the I3.
So now i'm looking for a DIY kit, so learn from and grow as my needs change.
Budget is a real big factor, the South African Rand is really weak at the moment against the US Doller, and its not going to get better anytime soon.
I have found a Sintron kit on eBay, ID 261643221467 @ $340 US
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SINTRON-3D-P...-/261643221467
Does anyone have any comments of suggestions regarding this I3 or any suggestions for other kits?
Thank you

Looks like a decent printer. The only thing I would change on it is the cheap J-Head hotend, but other than that it seems alright for the price.

Hi Hennis,
Awesome, will have a look at his site.
Are you in the Drones SA FB group? The name sounds familiar.

@ TehStranger,
On the page the seller says ... "we upgrade the J-head to All metal MK8 extruder"
So sounds like the J-Head will not be a issue

Hi BigshowZA,
I am building the Mendel90 and all the parts I got from my hardware & bolt & Nut place.
The other parts like the Hotend you can get from http://www.diyelectronics.co.za
The Printed parts I ordered from a guy in the USA.
The Prusa i3 is a excellent printer and you can get the printed parts from these guys aswell.
