Hybrid 3D Printer / Milling Machine - DMG Mori Hybrid Mill
Has anyone seen this thing? It's created by Sauer LaserTech, called the DMG Mori Hybrid Mill, and in my opinion could be the true future of major manufacturers. Basically it is one machine which can change it's own heads. It can go from laser sintering metal to drilling holes into that same piece of metal it just printed out. Check out the video. I find this pretty impressive. The completed product is something you would think was made with dozens of pieces, but one, it's all one solid piece.

That's a nice piece of gear right there.

Like you said Larry, 3D printing likely will be combined with other technologies and fitted to machines which are nearly 100% automated. This is a good thing for business's for sure. Maybe not so good for employees who had specialized jobs along a manufacturing assembly line. The machine there could take the place of 5 specialized workers.
