The http://www.selva3d.com/ link provided at your page produces very small .STL files. I was having trouble importing the large .STL files produced by the 3dp.rocks lithophane link. For some reason, OpenScad could pull it in, but it did not become part of the part you are rendering. Your www.selva3d.com link does not have those issues.

simplify3d has a built in utility to produce stl from this kind of file.
But heh, you're covered :-)

3dp rocks standardly makes the photo negative. (which in my opinion, you don't want). I always use www.itslitho.com for making these. You get a direct preview of what your design would look like, very handy!
