    What is this part??

    This rubbery thing came with my Hexagon hotend. It looks like it fits right over the nozzle and heater block (where heating element and thermistor go). What is it?? Do I put in on there? Looks like it would melt, and I don't seen any mention of it in the build guide or video.

    It is made of silicone and won't melt. It helps control the heat on your hotend

    it may smell for a while when first heated but it's made to take the heat and insulate the block.

    Thank you for asking this! I meant to ask a while ago, but was so excited to have my printer running that I forgot. I'll have to dig it out of my parts box and install it.
