A Chicago-based maker and 3D design/printing enthusiast designed his own rollerblades using Autodesk Inventor 2013 and then printed them using his Makerbot Replicator 2. He shared his instructions and STL files on his Instructables page and on Thingiverse so other users can create their own, using their own custom foot measurements. When tested against factory-produced rollerblades, this DIYer found that his skates really stood up to the rigors of urban surfaces.
