3D Printed Bespoke Back Braces for Scoliosis Treatment
3D Systems has teamed with several doctors to create a new a 3D printed Bespoke back brace to treat scoliosis in children. The brace is created by digitizing measurements of a patient, and then printing a very flexible, comfortable, brace via a selective laser sintering process. Children prefer these braces to that of the traditional variety. They can easily be hidden under clothing, and many of the children are showing them off to their friends, instead of trying to hide them, or taking them off.
