Question How do I make my model solid?

    Hey,
I want to make a rather complex 3D model (STL file exported from an assembly in CAD software) solid. There are a lot of parts inside the object. I found a video that shows EXACTLY what I need. I was wondering if there's a free method of doing this. The video: https://youtu.be/002RUZ6B7BQ?t=1m8s

    Hi Stijn,

You could fix overlapping issues quickly using https://makeprintable.com/, it's free and automatic.

This would indicate that an assembly, or part thereof, was exported as an stl and not a part. Either:

    1) Re-export only the part you want

    or

    2) Use a boolean function to unite the parts you want into one single part and then re-export.

Depending on what CAD software you modeled it in, there might be a way to patch holes and fill in the voids with that software. What did you model it with?
