Foodini, Food 3D Printer Launches Kickstarter Campaign
Seems like today is the day for the food 3d printers. Earlier we saw the Chocabyte go on sale, and just a few minutes ago The Foodini 3D food printer launched their Kickstarter campaign:

Foodini is seeking funding of $100,000 on Kickstarter by April 25th. At the time of me posting this, they already have raised over $7k. The printer will retail for $1300, but those who back it on Kickstarter can get it for as cheap as $999. The first batch of printers will ship by October of this year. Check out the specs of NaturalMachines' Foodini Printer:

Looks pretty amazing. I'm sure they will be funded. Looks like the best consumer level food printer yet. I'd love to have on of these in my kitchen, if I had enough room for it.

This looks like it will need some significant R&D and they've got a ship date of October of this year? I'm gonna go ahead and be sceptical on this one. Unless they're an already established company and they've got the R&D already done behind the scenes, I'd give this project a timeline of at least a year and a half, not seven months.
Even if that picture wasn't a render and they have a fully working model for beta testing, setting up the manufacturing is still more than 7 months for somethign this complex.
