UK-based designer Jonathan Roberts was tired of the need for regular recharges for his smartphone, particularly when he wanted to take long bicycling trips with little access to electricity. He found his answer in a new mobile charging system he devised, the 3D printed AeroCharge, which harnesses the power of the wind to charge a battery that in turn powers up a mobile device. The AeroCharge features several fans mounted on the front of the bicycle and angled for maximum aerodynamic power to harness wind. The entire system is 3D printed on Roberts' Ultimaker 2 3D printer, save for the electrical components, screws, and rubber grips.
