Industrial design student Reinout Holtrup, at the Netherlands' University of Twente, has taken his bachelor assignment as an opportunity to address some issues in the SLA 3D printing space--particularly the limit of colors/materials in a print. Focusing on a Digital Light Processing (DLP) 3D printer, Holtrup has created a prototype machine that can print with up to 5 materials/colors at once. His machine, the XZEED Multi-Material DLP Printer, has five vats that can hold different materials that can be changed out mid-print. Check out some of the XZEED's build specifics in the full story: http://3dprint.com/84142/xzeed-dlp-multi-material/
