Jason Kirk, a long-time fan of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, brought together his loves of classic Nintendo games and high-tech design with his new creation: flower pots modeled after the video game's famous Piranha plants, complete with real carnivorous plants. Designed using Luxology Modo 801 and taking just a few hours and three iterations, Kirk ended up with a great Warp Pipe theme, printing the pipes in two pieces that each took about 5-6 hours on his Printrbot Simple Metal 3D printer. With Piranha plants left to the imagination of gamers, Kirk planted real-life carnivorous Venus Fly Traps in the 3D printed 8-bit-inspired pipe planters.
