Since its 1984 debut, the Ghostbusters franchise has had a loyal fan following. Chris Nevlin is among today's fan base, and recently turned to 3D printing in order to create his own Giga Meter...because you never know when you might need to detect ethereal energies (ghosts!) around the house. While Nevlin admits that it was an ambitious project, he was more than happy to take it on, designing his own prop in Solidworks and having it 3D printed by Shapeways. While it might not pick up ghosts, Nevlin's design incorporates LEDs, an Arduino-compatible microcontroller, and two servo motors to move an antenna, giving it an authentic look.
