3D Printed Robots to work in Hospitals and Museums
Dr. John Murray of the University of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, UK wants to know why, despite our fascination with movie and television sci-fi androids, we humans actually seem to have an aversion to real-life C3POs and their kin. He’s employing three 3D-printed robots produced using open source software and designs to test his theories about human and humanoid robot interaction. The robots are the result of a project, InMoov, designed by French model maker and sculptor, Gael Langevin. Their shells can be easily 3D printed on a home printer with a large enough build volume. Dr. Murray thinks these robots will eventually be put to use in Lincolnshire-area hospitals and museums, where they can supplement human labor. more details on this story can be found here: http://3dprint.com/47822/3d-printed-robots-hospitals/
