Jason Lopes of Legacy Effects has made quite a splash with his various applications of 3D printing technology for the movies and stage productions, and now Lopes' work has been seen by an audience of more than 100 million people in a single night. Lopes, the lead designer on a project to create Mohawk-like helmets for Katy Perry's stage show, used a Stratasys 3D printer to create the lighted, Romanesque helmets seen during the Super Bowl last Sunday. Now that they've made their debut, they can be seen on Perry's year-long tour when she performs her hit single "Roar."
