Artist and Instructables contributor John Edmark has harnessed the mathematical patterns present in nature to create a series of sculptures called Blooming Zoetropes. Each of these forms is created based on relationships between parts dictated by the golden angle. These complex geometries were modeled digitally and then created on a 3D printer. The forms themselves were filmed with a high-speed camera while rotating, giving them the appearance of continually blooming.
