Aluminum Giant, Alcoa, Turns to 3D Printing
Alcoa is the latest company to announce a move toward additive manufacturing. At its annual investor day on Tuesday, the new intentions were stated, as 3D printing is expected to come into play for -- among other uses -- the manufacture of jet engine components. Additive manufacturing can cut production time in half and reduce costs by 25%, leading Alcoa eager to explore the possibilities.
