United Sciences is offering demonstrations of its new mobile inner ear scanning technology at this year’s Consumer Electronics Showcase in Las Vegas. The eFit scanner, which is the first of its kind, allows the operator to scan the inner ear and its surrounding area, create a 3D model from that data, and send the mold to be printed on desktop 3D printers. United Sciences is currently using four MakerBot Replicator Minis to produce the molds and is able to move from print to finished assembly in under an hour.
