Athens, Greece-based software startup 3D-EYE is developing a product that will scan two-dimensional images and create 3D models that are 3D printer ready. They aim to create 3D prints of two-dimensional artworks, among other imagery, to bring the art-viewing experience to the visually impaired. Uses can also be broadened to the healthcare industry (e.g., ultrasounds) and museums, educational institutes, and many other applications. 3D-EYE's Indiegogo campaign, launched in October, extends through December 16, seeking to fund the company's initial launch.
