Dog Tests Out 3D Printed Bone and a New Bioprinter is Developed
In bioprinting news for the day, a dog named Eva was hit by a car and was facing having her leg amputated - but then her vet at the University of Glasgow thought of having the university try out a 3D bone printing technique that they're developing for landmine survivors. Although human trials won't begin for several years, the technique was used on Eva - and it worked. Meanwhile, a software company has developed a bioprinter that operates on a six-axis robot, and the company believes that it may eventually be able to 3D print human organs.
