The winner of this year's i.materialise Designer of the Year Award goes to Zurich-based Drzach & Suchy: a team that experiments with both 3D printing and illumination to bring us images that change as they are exposed to different forms of lighting. The team's two stand-out pieces, "Got M?" and "haiku," both utilize 3D printed panels in different contexts to alter the printed images. This technique, known as Shadow Casting Panel or SCP, was originally created by Drzach in 2004, and it has evolved to incorporate 3D printing technologies over the years with Suchy's help. Their work is fun, innovative, and pleasing to the eye, and we congratulate them for this competitive award. Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/117864/i-material...igner-of-year/
