The ASDA supermarket chain in the UK has introduced the possibility for every person to have their very own mini-me...of themselves. They tried it out in 10 UK locations last year, and those stores now have the scanning booths permanently in-store. An on-site scanner creates thousands of images while you pose for 12 seconds and then uses those images to create a 3D portrait. That portrait is sent off site to print and in no time at all you've got an 8" high, full-color statue of yourself ready for use as a cake topper, a toy, or a memento.
