The Refuge: Using 3D Printing to Reach Youth
Sunbury, Pennsylvania is fortunate to have a community supportive of young people, and a great example of this is the non-profit youth center which offers homework help, meals, arts and crafts and computer/3D printing classes too. The Refuge is a labor of love initiated by its director, Ian Snyder, and funded and supported by the local Shikellamy School District, John's Family Fund, and other donors. A $10,000 gift allowed The Refuge to purchase four 3D printers, and the center regularly sponsors 3D printing nights for the whole family. The next " Family Make Night" will be on Nov. 19 at 5:30 PM to 3D print cookie cutters. Check out more details at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/100602/the-refuge-youth-center/
