3D Printed Assistive Device
A quick visit to Cornelius Quiring's page and you get an immediate sense of who he is. The power of his personality has been applied to designing and creating a prosthetic device that would restore use to his right hand, the use of which was lost in a farm accident when he was just a boy. However, Quiring isn't only interested in function. The device must also be beautiful, a way of complementing his interest in aesthetics, not simply something that emphasizes the nature of his disability. After generating a high-quality 3D scan of his hand, he has been working to create the perfect prosthetic and documenting the process on his blog.
