    Makerbot Desktop Won't Work

I've been trying to get Makerbot desktop 3.6 to run on a fresh Windows 7 install, and it won't work no matter what I do. Makerbot support has no clue, and they can't help me. I installed the latest version of python before I installed it, and the print button is greyed out. I can export but it will only export as a Makerbot file, and won't slice. Do I need to install skeinforge?

    Hello!
This is probably the wrong subforum. But if you're using a Makerbot Replicator 2/2X or Makerbot Mini you can use 3DPrinterOS as well, you don't need to use Makerbot Desktop at all.
    just head to www.3DPrinterOS.com

try the earlier version of makerware desktop. It's a lot more reliable.

I did try 3dprinteros on my makerbot clone. Just didn't work.
That said I haven't tried the new version yet.
Mind you my internet connection can be a bit dodgy at the moment - so a cloud based slicer isn't me best option.

And no it's not the right section. The dedicated makerbot section would probably have been better :-)
