The release of Apple's latest iPhone models didn't just affect those interested in the phones for communications' sake; when he pre-ordered his new iPhone 6+, John R. Hazzard realized he faced his own dilemma. What kind of case should it have? He knew, after having used cases that looked like old cassette tapes, that his new phone would need something special -- so he designed his own and had it 3D printed. With popular movie Guardians of the Galaxy released around the same time, his design objective became clear: the Walkman from the movie, styled after Peter Quill's. Using Apple's specs, he designed a case using Autodesk Maya 2015, then sent his pieces to Shapeways to be 3D printed.
