3D Printed Hockey Puck Marks Start of NHL Season

Filled with a love for hockey, the folks at Proto3000 decided to celebrate the upcoming hockey season by 3D printing a puck. The ice hockey puck, which is traditionally made from vulcanized rubber, has remained largely unchanged over the last 130. The 3D printed puck as created from a mix of TangoBlackPlus and VeroWhitePlus at an A95 shore value. The puck was tested by retired AHL player Jeff Prendergast who said he could tell the difference but that young players most likely wouldn’t even notice. The puck withstood a friction and force test on the ice, coming away with only a few nicks.
