Yes and Yes.
I have never designed a prosthetic for a real life patient. I have designed some very complicated items and gadgets that have been printed on my 3D-Printer. I can work effectively within a team environment working on this type of project. I will be able to contribute ideas that are helpful to solving the bigger problem.
I'm getting close to being an 'Engineer' I am certainly willing to help tackle difficult problems.
Yes but if possible, I would prefer to wait until the 'right' initiative makes itself apparent. If the 'right' initiative appears I would be willing to lead it and push it foreword. However, with that said, for the first several initiatives done here, my guess is the learning curve is going to be steep and we may need to have several people all driving it forward to keep things organized. It might make sense to limit what and how much we try to take on for the first assignment. We probably should have a discussion about which initiatives get launched first (or ever).
I don't have any media connections.
If we need special expertize I would be willing to do what I can to recruit them. But this isn't my most useful role.
If I find somebody with a special need, I will point them here. But this won't be my most useful role.
I don't know how to answer this other than to say any big engineering project always has the team members making contributions they did not expect. The bottom line is everybody needs to do what ever they can to get the team across the finish line.
