Recently, industry leader Stratasys teamed up with the Millennium Gate Museum of Atlanta as well as Kennesaw State University to bring the new -- a Fortus 900mc Production 3D Printer -- and the old -- a long-lost Wonder of the World -- together for a thrilling exhibition, unveiled just as the 2016 Summer Olympics kick off in Rio de Janeiro. The cooperative team set out to reconstruct, via 3D modeling and 3D printing, one of the ancient Wonders of the World: the Statue of Zeus at Olympia. Thanks to Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology, the Statue of Zeus is ready to be back in the world, brought to life as a new, stunning 6-foot-tall statue created with the accuracy and speed that Stratasys' Fortus line of 3D printers are known for. The team involved in bringing Zeus back to life included 3DPtree, Stratasys, Kennesaw State University 3D, Stan Mullins, and Technical Training Aids. 3DPrint.com had the opportunity to ask A Few Questions For the team involved, finding out details from team members from Stratasys as well as the National Monuments Foundation.
