Every year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute kicks off its latest exhibition with the Met Gala, a massive fundraiser that attracts the biggest names in arts, entertainment and fashion. The gala is always given a theme which coincides with the theme of the forthcoming exhibition, and it usually leads to some interesting fashion choices among the guests. This year's theme, however, may be even more interesting then most. "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" will focus on the intersection of fashion and technology, and will examine the juxtaposition of handmade craftsmanship with machine-made - including 3D printed - fashion.
