US Navy is now 3D Printing Drones onboard their Ships
The US Navy has unveiled that they are now 3D printing drones onboard the USS Essex. In fact they printed one back in December that has been helping them monitor at-sea piracy and drug smuggling. The drones' body was made out of 3D printed parts which were emailed via satellite to the USS Essex, while at sea. The parts were then 3D printed and assembled together with electronics that the ship had in storage on the ship. It should be interesting to see just how quickly this technology advances and how many more drones the Navy has up their sleeve.
