Israel and Aerospace Consortium Look into 3D printing With Titanium

Avi Hasson serves as the Chief Scientist for the Israeli Ministry of Economy research and technological development committee, and he also leads a Magnet Committee which provides grants for industrial concerns which pair up with academic partners on technology projects. Hasson says the committee will be driven by a dozen business clusters and take advantage of a budget of nearly $51 million to examine methods of building titanium parts for aerospace applications. One of the industry leaders of the group, Elbit Systems, is an international high-tech company that develops and supplies a range of airborne, land, and naval systems for defense, homeland security, and commercial aviation applications.
