Oh man, the terminator Rex is really cool. I like your Hound Rex Geoff. Really nice. The castle one isn't that great in my opinion.
BTW, don't know if you guys saw that MakerBot released a...

DIY 3D printers will probably get to be extremely cheap, as more and more parts of the printers will eventually be able to be printed at home. However, I don't see prices of already built 3D...
What I'm wondering about is what happens if someone creates a really cool design, posts it on Shapeways or Thingiverse, and then someone else tries to patent it? Patents costs over $10,000, so...
Yeah, changing colors isn't too bad. I've done it before. I guess this kinda just allows you to let a print run though without you having to wait around to switch colors. Could be a pretty cool...
I think it would be a great move on the part of Amazon. However, I don't know if what they would be willing to offer would be enough to convince Shapeways. Giving up ownership is a big step, in...
I love the idea of using 3D printed muscles for the design of a robot. If you want a robot to function like a human, the best way is to make parts that function like a human. The idea of muscles is...
Saw this today. It's a frog dissection kit. Kids can dissect the frog without needing a real frog :)

Looking forward to see this crowd funding project launch. Any idea where it will be launched yet?
I'm pretty sure that right now the standard for schools is the Replicator 2 or 2X. However, with the 5th generation coming out, I wonder if most schools will go with the Mini or stick to the...
I think most people younger than 40 have at least some knowledge of 3D Printing. Very minimal perhaps, but they at least know that 3D printers exist. I'd say only about 2% of the population know a...
There is no mention of how long this takes in order to make a Pizza. Seems like it would be easier and quickly to just do it by hand, doesn't it?
I personally am not aware of any others. Perhaps there is a RepRap one out there?
I was reading the reviews for the digitizer on Amazon, and they really aren't very good. Only got 3/5 stars, which is pretty crappy for stuff on Amazon.
It doesn't look like they've sold any yet. I guess there isn't a very big 3D Printing community up in Ottawa Aye?
I too saw this. I wish the faire was only for 3D Printing. It's all about Makers though (people that make stuff in general). Probably very little will consist of 3D Printing though.
If you are going to compare FDM to SLA, you might as well also throw in SLS. I think SLS what will eventually win out.
This is quite amazing, I must say.

Best of luck guys! Your company sounds interesting.

I agree. The cons probably wouldn't feel right to someone that is used to handling them as well? Counterfeiting is a huge crime. Probably not worth spending $3.50 to print a $5.00 coin to take a...
Pretty interesting stuff. I wasn't aware of this before you posted this.
Here are more details:
I would think this would make more sense for those people who print out molds that they want...
As far as I know, this is true. The new printers are only compatible with MakerBot Filament. You can't blame them. Look at 2D printing. All 2D printers are only compatible with certain ink...
Holy cow, they are awesome. What is that lafter item on the right though? It looks like a spoon with a holes in it.
Just saw this went up today I believe. It is the first DC Motor 3D Printer out there. Supposedly it has excellent precision. What do you guys think? Is the DC motor the way to go?
It's only...
Man, I'm seriously considering backing this, even though I can hardly afford it. Looks awesome!
Glad to see them win some of the awards. They deserved the majority of them in my opinion. However I still think I'd take a printer from 3D Systems over MakerBot.
