According to their statements, the machine is set to print PLA because the manufacturers see the printer as a domestic use item. They believe that the vapours from ABS should not be emitted into a domestic situation.

However, they do recognize that people might like to use ABS, so there is a switching method that changes the printer settings so it can use ABS. I suppose that switch would change the printer settings to allow higher tempertures.
