Hephestos 2 - Top layer quality issues.
Hello, I'm fairly new to 3d printing, I've got an Hephestos 2 printer and using a PLA filament.
I've been having problems with the top layer of my prints, the bottom and sides are okay if not perfect
but the top comes out very dirty looking
i've tried re-calibraiting the printer, aligning the bed height, using different brand filaments & also cleaning the nozzle.
attached are pics of the print and settings... any thoughts about what might be causing this?
Thank you very much for your help Michal

You're not far from what you should expect from a FDM printer, if you want a smooth surface on top you're not going to be able to avoid sanding/filling.

just what I was thinking, for cheap pla that's not too bad.
You can try printing slower and using a print area fan.
You an also try different filaments. Some of the better made and more expensive types do make a significant difference in finish quality.
I don't get the printing temperature - is it 200 or 215 ?
Probably one of the best finishes I've sen recently is innofil's new pro 1 filament. Has a really shiny satin finish to parts.
Printing time- Is this right?
