Thoughts on 3D printers from Amazon
Hello,
I had an interest in 3D printing years ago when they were $2000+. Fast forward a couple years and I can't believe how much the prices have dropped. I happened to stumble by a few on Amazon and found this forum and I am now looking at purchasing one. It needs to be from Amazon for business reasons.
I like the Pursa i3 for obvious reasons (price). The more I read, I also want a metal frame.
I am looking at the JGAURORA 3d Printer desktop DIY 3d Printers Kit Metal Frame Prusa i3.
Anyone have thoughts on this? Reviews look good, other brands seem to have reviews all over the place and are acrylic. Does anyone have any other recommendations?
Budget, around $400.
Thanks!

looks pretty good.
The other one to look at is the wanhao duplicator i3.
the 2.1 version is similiar price. I think the new plus is a little more.
And yep - kits in particularly have got ridiculously cheap.
Hell you can get a replicator clone now for under £300/$500

I would personally choose something that has a big community around it.
Something like Anet, Wanhao, TEVO, geeetech, etc.

The reviews on those guys are pretty bad. The monoprice is a copy of the Wanhao, any experience with this printer?

It isn't a copy, it's a rebrand. Made in the same factory by the same people with the same components. Only difference is the words painted on it.
I have it myself. Very moddable, and out of the box prints pretty decently given the price. In fact, it's one of the best rated prints on the market for value.

has both usb port and micro sd slot.
The plus has a full sized sd card slot.
I tend to do anything over 30 minutes from a card and all the quick small stuff from usb.

I bought the metal frame Prusa from Jgaurora and I'm very pleased with it. I've had it for a couple of months, run it nearly every day and haven't had any major problems. Their customer support is very good, they answer e-mails very promptly (remember, though, they're in China so there's a big time difference).
