Pen attachment for 3d printer?
Ive been messing with attaching a pen to my Makergear M2. I have been able to have it write things but am having trouble getting a Z lift to work.
Anyone try this before?

I'm just curious. What's the point of having your printer write things with a pen?

Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box and doing wild things with your devices. I could see a use for it. You could attach a metal pin to a hot end so that it would heat up. Then you could put a previously printed part on the bed and if you carefully calculated the place to start, you could scribe or write on the part by letting the hot pin melt the part as it traced out the letters or symbols you desire. I think there is a use for this kind of testing.
I don't think there is any need to reinvent a standard plotter but this kind of thinking and testing invariably leads to more practical ideas.Bambu P1S/AMS
