It is somewhere in the control board, I just can't find out where.

This should not be an issue. There was no power outage, surge protector is still showing green (its an awesome surge protector made for server blocks I got for cheap from my brothers work lol), everything looks to be in order.

Kinda getting sick of these phantom issues lol. I'm to used to machines that break for obvious reasons I guess.
Could happen to any machine. I am anti Qidi but I am trying to stay neutral just hard to do after all of my issues with the machine, lol.

How old is your machine? I think it is new for you so Qidi will probably replace the Mightyboard for you if you email Emily and tell her all of these issues.

    Yea..I know.
I am used to stuff that when it breaks its typically obvious why it did so within couple seconds of inspection.

My machine is like 3-4 months old if that. Already talking to Qidi about it, I'm sure they will cover it.

Last time I contacted them with an issue they sent the parts I requested and like 3 extra parts too. One of the extras being a thin-lined small tooth feed gear...something I actually needed for running foodsafe PLA (the stock gears mine came with were tearing it up).

The Right extruder has been working perfect. The left extruder, the one nearest the turbo fan keeps getting clogged.

    Few things to try:
First take the extruder block apart, make sure there is no bits of filament stuck between the feed assembly and ptfe tube. Also make sure the feed gear is clean. It is good idea to do this after any jam as you will typically get bits of material stuck below the feed assembly, if its a bad jam material clogged on the feed gear is kinda common too.

If everything looks to be in order in the block you can try swapping the drivers. Several Qidi users (myself included) had one feed driver go faulty soon after getting the machine. If you swap the left and right feed drivers and the problem appears on the right side then you know its a faulty driver. If that be the case just e-mail Qidi, they send ya a fresh one.

You know what I don't get and that is how a company is making any money with so many parts having to be mailed out. I am unsure what a DHL 3 day from China to the USA costs but it can't be that cheap and the parts they must be paying less than a dime a piece on but they mail out so many over a 6 month warranty period. I don't think any USA company would be able to stay in business with that as a business model or at least not for long.

Just a guess, but maybe they're trying to build a good reputation for when they come out with newer printers that stray farther from the Makerbot clone model. New and different printers can't be as easily compared to existing printers like a clone can. It's easy to see the value in getting a Makerbot clone for a third the price, half the price of the most popular clone, but a brand new machine is a tougher sell.

Good point and one I had not thought of. Now we all know that a company with great support and a product that demands the use of that support on a regular basis is not a good thing. I only hope that if they do get away from the Makerbot model they improve their QC because that is what is the most wrong with Qidi.

Having said that I don't think they are considering the Avatar IV as a loss leader but I am sure it is close to being one.

Looks like the new version of Simpilfy3D released today directly supports Qidi Tech Printers.

    OMG, YES -

    • Intuitive Editing of Internal Supports – Simplify3D has always included some of the best support generation tools available, including the ability to customize the size and location of your support structures. The new release combines this customization functionality with the cross-section tool, allowing you to easily look inside your models and edit internal supports that would otherwise be hidden from the outside.

Has anyone been able to get this update to install?
The 'check for updates' function in S3D says I'm running most current version.

Also...turns out the issue with my machine WAS a short...just took awhile to fully manifest as such. Was working on restoring power to the board last night, talking with Qidi...and then the power connector finally arced.
I think Dark may be onto something....seems like their liberal shipping of waranty parts is starting to take its toll....They asked if I would mind paying the DHL cost on the new board. I am sure they would have sent it anyway if I had said no...but I don't mind paying the shipping at all, better than paying for a new board. Plus I am very happy with the machine and the level of customer support Qidi gives.
