Shapeways User 3D Prints His Own Mini Cooper Key Fob
While people seem to be enjoying the new Mini Cooper F56 model, there's at least one common complaint. The key fob is unnecessarily large and disc-shaped. Shapeways user J. de Vries set out to change this by 3D designing and printing his own key fob. Available on Shapeways for $7.50 in Strong & Flexible plastic, the design has become popular enough to make it one of Shapeways' top sellers in April. This is rather impressive considering that the key fob targets a niche community of Mini Cooper drivers, but the new more streamlined design definitely seems to match the F56's newer design features better. Gese, isn't the first thing everyone does when they get a 3d printer to print a replacement box for the garage door opener and the car key. I certainly did and have printed loads for mates that have knackered buttons.
Hardly seems worth a mention.

nope - never even considered it lol
But surely as the new 'mini' range are larger than most other cars you'd want a commesurately enormous keyfob !
I've gota car with 7 seats and there is a 'mini' out there much bigger than my car. You'd want a keyfob for that you can carry round on a trolley :-)

Perhaps the keyfob should come with a lock box that fastens to the outside of the mini and has a remote door lock on that has a small fob to open it.
