MakerBot Expands on How to Give Credit for Thingiverse 3D Designs
MakerBot has expanded on their recent Creative Commons blog post with a new guide to properly providing attribution to any designs found on Thingiverse. In their blog post titled “How to Provide Proper Attribution for Designs from Thingiverse” the MakerBot team focuses on the when, where and how users are expected to attribute a design that has been shared on Thingiverse. They also explain how to attribute the original creator of a remixed design, a design that is being shared on your blog or social media page and when displaying a 3D printed version of a design. You can read more about this guide and why proper attribution is important over on 3DPrint.com: https://3dprint.com/129999/makerbot-proper-attribution/

+1 for this, it's a good idea, hopefully more people actually take it on board and start giving the proper attribution. I have many of my models on major printer sites, using those prints as advertising for the printer (which is flattering of course) but sadly they never give credit, nor give people a link to where they can download that model.

ROFL! This is like Aldrich Ames handing out fliers on how to protect national secrets. Anyone else see the irony here?
