3Digify Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Affordable Open Source 3D Scanner
3D scanners are expensive. Even the cheapest will run you at least a few hundred dollars, and the more sophisticated, high-quality scanners can easily cost well over $10,000. Germany company 3Digify believes that these costs are unreasonable, especially because most people already have the equipment to build their own scanners - and they want to help you do so. A new Kickstarter campaign is raising funds for 3Digify's partially open source software, which will allow you to convert two cameras, a projector, and a computer into a high-resolution 3D scanner.
