3D printer wont create smooth layered edges
When we try to run a print that has a a lot of layers it keeps doing this.

The printer uses G-code and we cant seem to get it to print smoothly, we use sli3r to turn the .stl file into G-Code for the printer to read. Is there anything we can do or do we have to just live with it?
PS: yes we are new so any help is more than welcome

I'm sorry but it lacks a little backgrounf information.
What you intend to print is a cylinder, correct ?
And you're using... what printer, what settings, what material ?

and you could do with a cooling fan on the print area.
How big's the cylinder, how thick are the walls.
What slicer settings are you using ?

Ordinarily we would suggest that there is some z wobble but it looks very pronounced, they look part of the design. Have you checked that both sides of the z axis are level?

Yes, give us the slicer settings.
Just looking at the bottom layers my guess #1 is that the heatbed is way too hot. Are you using ABS settings for PLA?
If so, lower the heatbed to 60C and run the nozzle at 180-200 C. If you are using ABS, then set the heatbed to 95C, not 110 C.
Also, check that the nozzle+heater block are firmly fixed/screwed tight. There should be no play and you shouldn't be able to wiggle it.

Check all your Axes, make sure every bolt is tightened and the frame is solid. I was having similar problems with my prints on a CTC 3D Printer, and I made sure to oil/lube up all the axes and tighten everything up properly. I found out the primary cause of my issue was the angle brackets holding my glass bed in place were slightly melting as the heated bed temp went up, causing the bed to shift back and forth as the Z level moved.

Could be many things
Play in the axes (e.g a screw needs tightening), the stepper motor slips, could be print configuration such as speed and layer height.
So more information would be great!
