    Man you got that right, those 3DConnection mouses are very expensive... Which one did you go with?

    I went with the 3D Connection Wireless Spacemouse. I found the interface pretty confusing to set up, but I found if you "Reverse" absolutely everything it's use suddenly becomes amazingly intuitive.
    Once set up it's a VERY nice piece of kit. My only real complaint is that it costs and arm and a leg... and another leg!

    Now call me cynical - but this thread does read like an advert for Onshape.

    I will go and have a look at it ;-)
    Although as my broadband is not great and the signal in my workshop even slower. Cloud based appicatiions are pretty much always going to be at the bottom of any list I have.

    Well I signed up and watched the first two tutorial videos. And that's me done :-)

    Talk about frigging complicated. Also uses faces not solids.
    Nah I'll stick with openscad. Much Much simpler.

    true.

    But it took about 5 operations to define a flat square, then the same to define another one, then you had to pick another tool and bunch of other operations until you finally had cube.

    Versus the 3 seconds I need to type: cube(10);

    It would have made more sense to simply have a 3d shape tool that you could adjust for different planes, sides etc.
